Illustration Friday: Asia Tapestry (Discovery)

The Asia Tapestry that was done for The Morning Star Boy's Ranch has been chosen to represent this week's "Discovery" theme. The tapestries were done to give the boys exposure to different cultures around the globe and convey a sense of discovery. Asia and China in particular is responsible for many discoveries that have influenced the world at large (hydraulics, gunpowder, metallurgy, bifocals, etc.). Three more in the series of five tapestries can be seen below in an April 28th posting.

I think this is one of the hardest things for me to do.. and you handle it so well...ie: Fitting a myriad of figures on one canvas, with the ebbs and flows and still maintain a sense of cohesiveness....I like this in that for what it was meant for its complicated, yet simple enough to engage the younger viewer and encourage conversation or questions....

This is certainly my favorite. You have such a great feel for composition and colors.
