-Joseph Campbell
An earlier painting that was inspired by the work of the late Joseph Campbell. Showing many religions and myths in coexistence, the pantheon as neighbors. Being that they ultimatly have far more in common, rendering their differences insignificant.

Greg, this is another amazing painting. Love those clouds.
Excellent Greg! I was just on the phone with a friend who's been trying to find the "right" church for her. And as for me, nature is my church. It takes all kinds to make this world work in harmony!
Wonderful illustration.
I love your beautiful artwork and especially this painting!! It should be on the poster at ALL churches and temples around the world!!

A beautiful painting, and very important quote - I could not agree more.
The colors are spectacular! And I knew instantly who all of them were. The detail and textures are incredible and I love the way you painted the clouds and the background. You did a really wonderful job!
I absolutely LOVE this...great work...great comment!
Fine illustration and I agree totally with the quote, the radical side in anything in life tends to mess things up.
Fantastic! Amazing detail! great illo for this week's theme!!
The fact that this is a fantastically executed picture aside, concept, interpretation and meaning are all overwhelmingly beautiful. Thank you for sharing this!
What a great piece, and so true too! Hey, thanks for your comment on my own IF post: I think you really identified the problem!
Greg- This is great. The main characters are fantastic but I really love how each element represents a different group. It's fun to search and figure what each thing represents.
Beautiful work

Damn cool idea and ballsy subjects to depict too.
I'm thinking the decision to leave out Mohammed was a good one.

" Islam is represented in the archway since Allah is'nt to be represented in a living form. I thought that may avoid offense."
-Hartman 2007
I always had a soft spot for Campbell since reading his "Occidental Mythology" but then I thought he lost the plot in the later "Creative Mythology"
